Editor’s note: This is a post from our archives.
Recently, Peggy Frezon at Peggy’s Pet Place shared a link to a great post on do-it-yourself dog toys. The site Wisebread (“Living large on a small budget”) came up with “10 DIY dog toys you can make for pennies.” While idea #1, the “Sock ‘n Ball,” was always a fave with Daley, when I saw #7, “Milk-Bottle Madness,” I knew it had Mason’s name written all over it!
Indeed, after a test run, I’m calling this “new toy” a winner. Mason played with it for 45 minutes straight when I first gave it to him and in total, I’d say he’s spent about three
hours since yesterday battling the milk jug for the treats inside. Thanks for the link, Peggy!

… Over at Grouchy Puppy‘s blog Dog Days blog find an easy and fun step-by-step on how to fix your dog’s “injured” toys and clean them. Here are the first two steps: “Collect the toys from around the house & under the furniture. Line them up like patients at a clinic.” The rest of the steps are at “Dog Toys: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” here.
Caring for Daley in his elderly years inspired me to start Daley's Dog Years. Here you'll find more than 700 posts related to health, wellness, and senior dog lifestyle.
