Most of the U.S. has been baking this week. According to The Weather Channel, seven cities have even given Death Valley a run for its money (see the list here). And it’s going to be another hot one today.
Petfinder’s blog provides great tips on keeping your dog safe during sweltering weather. After you park your senior in front of his fan, read the post, “Nine ways to keep your dog cool and safe during the heat wave,” here.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that older dogs (as well as very young dogs and short-nosed breeds) are more vulnerable to heat stroke. I highly recommend the Dawg Business article, “Signs, Symptoms and Treatment of Heat Stroke In Dogs,” here.
